The Gentleman’s Survival Kit
Today we are talking about “REDNECK DIY – BLAZINGNAILGUN” Youtube channel. We got to know about Fred Sexton, the protagonist of this story, thanks to his video “The Gentleman’s Survival Kit”. In it, he makes an incredible kit in which you can find pretty much anything and everything you would need in a survival situation, or in any other kind of situation really… Whiskey, prophylactics, dope? I’m pretty sure you could even throw a party with this kit as well!
Feddie told us more about the content of this kit: “Knowing a gentleman would not be one to get himself dirty and uncomfortable in a survival situation, I wanted to capture what every gent would really need in a bug out scenario.
The right side of the box was meant to capture the survival aspect of the kit. Things like a Leatherman tool, a hatchet, a small tin with contraband (choose your own vice), an ice pick, 30/30 shells (knowing the rifle would be over his shoulder), a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes, a Zippo lighter, an old bar of soap from the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas, a tin of BC headache tablets, a can of snuff, a snake oil bottle, an old pack of Big Chief condoms, and of course a bottle of Bulleit Bourbon.
The left side of the box is meant to capture the “entertainment” aspect of the kit with a deck of playing cards, a pocket watch, a compass, a harmonica, cash, and the Playboy magazine of the month and year I was born, October 1967, I believe every man should own a Playboy from the month and year they were born.”
With more than 65K subscribers and a content of more than 100 videos, Fred has made himself a place between the kings of the DIY Youtube world. But how can one person know so much about construction, carpentry, or machines? Well, there is an explanation for it, Feddie started welding and playing around with his dad’s old bikes with the age of 13. His Grandad shared another kind of know-how with him, structures, framing, sheetrock, electrical, plumbing… All these very life-valuable skills where brought to him by his most precious predecessors and have been following him ever since.
Fred Sexton was part of the U.S. Marine Corps and his last deployment took place as an infantryman in the legendary Desert Shield/Desert Storm operation in ’90-’91. When we asked this all-terrain man how he makes his living this is what he answered: “When you watch my YouTube Channel and look at my other social media, what you see is what you get. This is what I do and somehow it seems to work. If you can imagine a bunch of buckets in a leaky house, that is how I make my living, but my buckets are catching $10 here, $30 there, and the occasional $1000 or more somewhere else. I am an entrepreneur and have a variety of diverse interests and endeavors that sustain my place in the universe.”
Another legend in the DIY Youtube world is Jimmy Diresta. Fred had the luck of getting to know him and eventually becoming close friends. “I am like everyone else in that Jimmy has influenced the way I approach making things and content creation, but the greatest gift Jimmy gave me was telling people about me and helping me grow an audience. I remain grateful for that.” Here is a video of how Fred makes an amazing frame for his DIRESTA personal dedication.
We gratefully recommend you to subscribe to BLAZINGNAILGUN Youtube page if you are the DIY kind of man and to visit his FB page to contact him for any inquiry. And if you can no longer imagine your life without the Gentleman’s Survival Kit then you’ll be happy to know that Feddie can make one for you at the right price! You will have to get hold of your own Playboy magazine though, in this case, sharing is not caring!!
